‘Art Is Information’ is a phrase I developed soon after I started working at Maryland Institute College of Art. It is language I use to illustrate the importance of research in an art and design context, how information is embedded and consumed through art.
I’ve explored the research methodologies of one particular artist – Beyoncé – in the research guide “Beyoncé’s Lemonade and Information Resources.” I published the guide on April 28, 2016, after watching Beyoncé’s Lemonade and wrote about why I made the guide on Medium the next day.
